After yesterdays rains I took some photos of my Iris collection. Just a few are blooming now with many more to come. In the fall I divided up quite a few and have separated some of the colors. I now have a large bed of purple variations that should be blooming in the next few weeks.
I will share with you the ones visiting me now.

They are so beautiful and delicate!
ReplyDeleteToday in the yard we saw a couple of butterflies (or the same on over and over again). It was yellow, with a large wing span. The kids and I were so excited!
Thank you Carrie. The weather is perfect today. I saw a few butterflies already too, but it is still a little early for them.
ReplyDeleteI love the William Henry Channing quote in your header! And your irises are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy bearded iris were very unhappy with my unamended silty soil and croaked. I read somewhere that all bearded iris were fragrant, what do yours smell like?

Carla, thanks for sharing this has made my morning!!
ReplyDeleteGinny, I love it too!
ReplyDeleteChristine, I do not think there is much of a scent, at least I have not noticed it.
ReplyDeleteBig Cat, it is my pleasure.
ReplyDeleteI adore Irises but mine are about a month behind this year, the leaves are only just getting going and no sign of flower stalks
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful Iris! If I were I bee, I'd chose that lovely gold and orange iris too. Last time I tried bearded iris, the gophers got the lot! For some reason they seem to leave our native iris alone though.
ReplyDeleteI am delighted with your Iris flowers of various colors. They are really gorgeous and I love all of them with or without water dropplets!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
The blooms are so luxurious, rich and showy. I love the range of colours...
