All of these beds were planted on September 11th and 12th. In less than a month we are almost ready to pick some of the lettuces and green onions, too.
Onion and Shallot sets, a few Garlic sets, Sorrel, Mesclun, Arugula, and Mache
Onion Sets, Swiss Chard, Kale, Radicchio, Spinach, Watercress
Beets, Kale, Cilantro, Radish and more Swiss Chard
I still need to find a place to plant my pea pods.
Your beds look great - I'm so envious that your growing season is starting. Ours is just ending. Looking forward to following the plot!
ReplyDeleteCarla, I started some cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce and spinach several weeks ago and it is all coming up nicely. Yesterday morning: the spinach is all gone... damn squirrels. But my fault as I forgot to put a net over it.
ReplyDeleteCarla this looks just so orderly and the wire is for the rabbits?
ReplyDeleteVery impressive, Carla! I jumped when Vivaldi started! HaHa! Forgot you have music! Very nice!
ReplyDeletefreerangegirl, thank you for stopping by. I think I enjoy gardening the most in the fall, less bugs and cooler weather. But I miss tomatoes already.
ReplyDeleteDi, we don't have too many problems with squirrels but gophers are bad in our area. I lined the beds with chicken wire this time so that should keep them out.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting.
Catharine, yes the wire fence is for the bunnies. So far this has worked perfectly. We also have cats that roam in the neighborhood and this seems to keep them from hopping in and using it for a litter box!
ReplyDeleteLVL, Sorry the music startled you!
