Mystery Iris neomarica caerulea

I have no memory of buying this iris or where it came from. I have lots of iris so it may have come in one that I purchased, but I don't even remember planting one in this area. It grew by one of my birdbaths.

Any idea of the name? I sure would like to know.

  1. Perhaps a bird brought it in--you know. You might try to google images of what you think it might be. If you think it an iris, google iris images and see if it turns up. Let me know how that works.

  2. Hi Carla, this is iris neomarica caerulea. Take a look at the species iris society's database: http://www.signa.org/index.pl?Neomarica-caerulea. A beautiful iris. Also, you may 'LIke" the Facebook Page of the Iris Species Society at: https://www.facebook.com/speciesiris

  3. I don't know what it is called, but I would call it Shazam! I don't know the names of any of my iris. They are either the ones mom gave me, Becky gave me, or AJ gave me. You get the picture. If you remember where you got those little buggers let me know. They are so vivid.
