My Table Painting Project and Small Kitchen Remodel

Lots of projects in the works

I used Behr Semi-Gloss paint in White Wool.

I just finished painting this table and will put on a sealer.
Now it is on to painting my kitchen cabinets and moving the island wing to the wall.

Down to the cement
We will move this section of cabinets to the wall by the glass door.  The dishwasher will be right next to the sink.

This next group of photos are from 2009 when I removed the overhead cabinet that extended all the way to the end of the counter below. It was so dark in the kitchen when this was up.  Once I took it down the light just flowed through.  I lost the cabinet space, but

  1. Oh, we have talked about this for 20 years, Carla and I think we are going to reface our cabinets and take up the carpet and paint and maybe get new lights soon! What a job, but you look like you're are on the way.

    1. Nancy, I wish I could afford to reface, but it is not in the cards right now so I have my work cut out for me with sanding and painting. I like big projects though and I guess I will have one.

If you start yours, keep us posted so we can follow along.

  2. Very nice and I hope it turns out close to your budget. I gave up on a new kitchen as the wife loves the old (1916) farm style cabinets.

    1. Doc, if I had a 1916 farm style I would keep them too. We are just painting these and will change out the hardware and of course choose some sort of counter top. That is going to take me some time to decide, but with all these cabinets to sand, prime and paint I will have plenty of time to do just that.

    1. Thanks Betty! It was pretty easy since it was in such bad shape to begin with.

I like the sage color too, I just hope it comes out nice looking in the final coat. LOL

  4. That gentle warm muted sage green is very appealing. I imagine with your blonde hair, you could wear it too?

    1. Hi Diana, yes I do seem to navigate to that color in many areas in my life. Sage is one of my favorite herbs too.

    1. I know, a few people thought that. I tried to note that it was my inspiration kitchens, but I guess I should have made the font larger. LOL

  8. You did a great job in designing that kitchen especially the second photo. Great place and so inviting! I want to put a kitchen like that too in my eastwood city parkview condo. :)

  9. Your kitchen looks great. My fiance and I just remodeled our kitchen, and I love the way it turned out even though it was a nightmare throughout the whole process. I am still finding cabinet screws all over the place.

    1. I am sure I will have a lot of issues once we get going on this, but I am excited to finally start. Thanks for coming by and giving me some warning about loose screws, I will keep a note of those when I remove them.

    1. Ann, I will post pictures when we have some progress. Right now I am raising money by selling some things on Ebay. http://myworld.ebay.com/collectablesbycj

The first thing that I may get done next week is to move some electrical outlet and switches, then hopefully by the end of the month I will have the floor tile put down. Then......
