Mystery Iris neomarica caerulea

I have no memory of buying this iris or where it came from. I have lots of iris so it may have come in one that I purchased, but I don't even remember planting one in this area. It grew by one of my birdbaths.

Any idea of the name? I sure would like to know.

Sunny With a Chance of Showers

Our weatherman said on last nights news we should expect rain most of the day. We had a few good showers earlier today; the sun is peeking through the clouds now so I have titled my post a positive outlook for the day. Sunny, with a Chance of Showers.

I took some photographs on Wednesday and am just getting to posting them to my blog.  My iris are coming in now; the blues and purples are budding but so far no blooms have opened.  I will share the beauty of the peach, salmon and yellow with you for now.

Cistus (rockrose) has been blooming for several weeks, looks beautiful in the butterfly garden.
Of course it wouldn't be my blog if I didn't show off my Madarense Geraniums!

Nutmeg Scented Geranium came up on its own, see it hanging over the wall?

Raised Beds, Vegetable Garden Progress and some Flowers too! Help with plant name please!

"He who sees things grow from the beginning will have the best view of them."

A few photos to keep my blog up to date on the progress.  I took these photos on Monday Sept 20th and just got around to posting them.  The lettuces have all sprouted along with the beets, kale and swiss chard.  Green onions are doing great, too.  I should have plenty of goodies for Thanksgiving dinner.

Raised Bed Sept 20th, after only ten days

I have forgotten the name of this plant.  If you know it, please leave me a comment.

Close up of the bloom; reminds me of lilacs which happens to be my favorite flower.

Bearded Iris Bursting into Bloom

After yesterdays rains I took some photos of my Iris collection.  Just a few are blooming now with many more to come.  In the fall I divided up quite a few and have separated some of the colors.  I now have a large bed of purple variations that should be blooming in the next few weeks.

I will share with you the ones visiting me now.
