Heirloom Tomato Planting for 2011

Now that my flower doll making and virtual garden parties are over I thought that I should get down to some serious garden logging.  I have created a spreadsheet for my 2011 tomato planting.  I have planted all of these and still have some more to find space for. I have many duplicates as I have grown most of these from seeds; a few came from a local nursery that sells heirlooms. So far everyone looks pretty good. I have listed my planting dates on the spreadsheet. I should have waited until the 10th of this month for all of them as the two hail storms we had damaged the leaves of the ones I planted in March.  I am sure they will be fine but next year I will try to keep myself from being too anxious and not plant in March.

  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one who uses charts. The only thing you are missing is a Scale of 1-5 for tomato taste:) Thanks for sitting on my porch for a bit. Always nice to have company. Wish I could share my raspberry lemonade.

  2. Hi Carla. You have a huge variety of tomatoes! I'm trying other new heirlooms this year too. Green zebra and yellow pear is great and of course roma. I'm also going to try San Marzano for the first time. Busy in the garden! I have a garden plan and will post that up soon. Have a wonderful week!

  3. Hi Priscilla,

I have grown the green zebra and yellow pear that last couple of years and really liked both.

Looking forward to watching your garden grow this year. Can't wait to see what you will plant. You have a wonderful week, too.

  4. Hi BBBB, thanks for stopping by. I will add the scale as soon as I get a good taste of these beauties. I generally do a review at the end of the growing season and post it to my blog with pros and cons. This year I added so many new ones I just didn't have the space to plant some of my favorites from last year, except for the yellow pear, a plum, and green zebra. So many tomatoes and so little space.....
